PROVIDENCE – More than 125 people gathered May 13 in the social hall at the Dwares Jewish Community Center to pay tribute to Israel's fallen soldiers and victims of terror. This year's program was particularly poignant as the hostages remaining in Gaza were remembered.
The program included an address by Meron Reuben, Consul General of Israel to New England, remarks by Elihay Skital, Rhode Island's communiity shaliach (Israeli emissary), prayers by Rhode Island rabbis and moving songs by Rhode Island's cantors.
At the end, several fallen soldiers were recognized by tributes and songs.
