Jewish Alliance opens new round of community microgrants

The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island announced the opening of a new round of Community Microgrants, funded by the Bernhardt Foundation.

The program aims to help community members and organizations by providing funding for projects that strengthen Jewish life, build connections and create opportunities for engagement throughout Rhode Island.

Individual grants of up to $500 are available for projects that foster Jewish learning, community building or giving. Whether it's a new program, a gathering, a learning opportunity or another creative idea, the Alliance encourages applicants to think broadly about ways to bring people together and deepen connections.

Collaborative grants of up to $5,000 are also available for partnerships between a Jewish organization and one or more community partners. These grants are intended to support creative collaborations, strengthen existing relationships and encourage new partnerships that benefit both the Jewish community and the broader Rhode Island community.

Since its launch, the Community Microgrants Program has supported a wide variety of projects that have helped people connect, learn, volunteer, celebrate and build community in meaningful ways.

Over the years, microgrant funding has helped turn creative ideas into reality, supporting everything from community learning and cultural programs to interfaith partnerships, Holocaust education initiatives and opportunities for people to connect with Jewish life in new and meaningful ways.

The Alliance looks forward to supporting the next round of ideas and partnerships that help make Jewish Rhode Island vibrant, welcoming and connected.

Applications will be reviewed by a volunteer committee of community members. Projects of all sizes and stages are welcome, and applicants are encouraged to share ideas that respond to community needs, create opportunities for engagement or bring people together in new ways.
